Pamela Anderson, 56, ditched makeup — but not this luxe lip balm

The fresh-faced beauty icon relies on this nourishing product for a hydrated, nourished pout.

Pamela Anderson, 56, ditched makeup — but not this luxe lip balm

Actress and model Pamela Anderson has been in the spotlight for decades. She's probably best known for her role as C.J. on Baywatch, but the icon is also an author and an outspoken activist for animal rights and environmental causes.

Most recently, Anderson has made headlines for her decision to ditch her well-known glam in favor of going makeup-free. Anderson spoke with Vogue France last year about keeping things natural and said "You have to challenge beauty sometimes." On going out barefaced, she added: "It's just freedom, it's like a relief."

While Anderson may not be doing her signature smokey eye anytime soon, she does seem to have a favorite lip balm in her rotation: Sonsie's Basic Balm.

Spotted in one of her Instagram posts from a recent trip to Rome (and seen in her Instagram story according to Glamour), the hydrating lip balm appears to be one of Anderson's go-to's. But this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise — she is one of Sonsie's co-founders.

If you're new to the skin care brand, Sonsie is all about "mindful minimal skin care." Andersen is quoted on the brand's website as saying: "Through many years of trial and error … I have found that simplicity, and accepting all that we are is the key to an effective skincare and beauty routine." Currently, Sonsie only offers three products: a mask, serum and lip balm.

This lip balm will hydrate your pout and leave you with a glossy finish.

$22 at Sonsie

Sonsie's Basic Balm is a vegan and cruelty-free balm that can soften your lip's skin barrier and lock in moisture. It's formulated with squalene to soften and hydrate lips, while the included sunflower seed wax gives you that shiny, gloss-like finish.

The texture of the balm is exceedingly silky and can be applied all day long. Plus, this balm is colorless so you can use it on its own, like Pam, for a subtle, yet hydrated lip, or you can layer it over your favorite lipstick. And if you like citrus, you'll love this balm — it contains a bit of yuzu extract, which gives it a fresh scent.

Reviewers also can't get enough of the $22 Basic Balm. One shopper shared on Sonsie's website: "I have 5 tubes of this! Great for [keeping] my lips soft and gets me through my night and [I] never wake up with dry lips."

Another happy customer called it "the best lip balm I've ever used." They went on to write, "This stuff is it!!! Incredible formula, super long lasting with a subtle citrusy scent. I live in a very dry place with harsh winters and this is the only thing I’ve used that works!"

While some users weren't fans of the citrus scent, it wasn't a deal breaker for most: "I do think it has a subtle fragrance of citrus. It grows on you, at first it was so-so and as I used it more, I kind of liked it better."
