'Pee-wee Herman' Star Paul Reubens Still Sparked Laughter in the Days Before His Death
Paul Reubens may have been living his final days, but you'd never know by the contents of his social media.
The Pee-wee Herman star sparked laughter with his posts right up until his death on Sunday, July 30, as evidenced by his Instagram activity over the past few days (and really, always).
The actor characteristically shared content (usually of other users' videos) on the social platform that was equally funny, heartwarming, and smile-inducing, and there was no difference with his re-posts as of late.
On Saturday, July 29, Reubens seemingly found joy in a video clip of a man playing the trombone while riding on the back of a motor bike, taking to his account to share it with his own 419k followers alongside the simple caption: "??."
The clip, dubbed "The Sound of Speed" on the original creator's Instagram (philippe_stier), was meant to emulate the roaring engine of a motorcycle. The duo zooming by garnered immense laughs from viewers of the snippet, who took to the comment section of the post to express their enjoyment.
"Why am I crying laughing and got this on repeat! Holy f--k," one top-liked comment read, while another that many agreed with concurred, "That might be… The funniest f---ing thing I have ever seen in my entire life."
"This is why we need art and theatre in schools. This. This! For the sheer love and joy of performing. It’s spirit it’s energy it’s life. ????," another applauded.
"Love the shifting hesitation and no movement on the scooter ??," a fourth reveled, as a fifth insisted, "This.... This is why we have the internet."
Yet another user was assured, "There aren't many things that actually make you LOL on here but this one got me. The dude nailed it," and someone else wrote, "you’re a legend! I’m crying ??????????"—in a good way, of course.
As Parade previously reported, Reubens died July 30, 2023, at age 70. Since the news, Hollywood has been mourning the loss, with several colleagues including Katie Couric, Jimmy Kimmel and Andy Cohen taking to social media with loving tributes.
