A Performer From Duo Transcend Gets Dropped Tonight on 'AGT' and Simon's Reaction Is All of Us
America's Got Talent: The Champions returns Monday night on NBC at 8 p.m. ET for the semifinal round of the competition.
AGT: The Champions will welcome acrobatic pair Duo Transcend on Monday.
During their performance, one of the artists gets dropped, which prompts a strong reaction from judge Simon Cowell and the rest of the panel.
Be forewarned: Monday's America's Got Talent: The Champions episode is going to be an intense one for your heart.
Last Friday, AGT judge Howie Mandel posted a teaser clip of Duo Transcend's upcoming acrobatic performance — and to say it's a show-stopper is an understatement. The act features lots of roller skating, flips, and next-level trapeze moves that are bound to make you hold your breath. What's more, there's a planned moment when one of the acrobats, Mary Wolfe-Nielsen, gets dropped onto a mat below. As you can see from the video, Simon Cowell's reaction (1:16) to the heart-stopping move is all of us:
"That duo just transcended ... [you turned] just a circus act into a full-blown state show. You did it," Howie declared after Mary and her husband, Tyce Nielsen, nailed their routine. Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon added that she "couldn't take her eyes off" the pair the entire time, and Heidi Klum called the entire thing "perfection."
"Tonight you were in control of everything," Simon gushed at the end. "This was everything but more than I could've ever hoped for you two, genuinely."
Folks may remember that Duo Transcend was a fan favorite in season 13 of AGT and finished in the top 10. Now the question is ... will they earn the 2020 Champions title? Ultimately, it's up to the superfans, but needless to say, they'll be up against some incredible golden buzzer-winning acts, including Angelina Jordan, Boogie Storm, V. Unbeatable, and The Silhouettes.
Of course, if they keep pulling off performances like this one, Duo Transcend may just come out on top. Who knows!
