Celebrity parents are frequently shamed on social media by anonymous critics who think they know better, and Pink has received more than her fair share of scrutiny.

While husband Carey Hart regularly baits parenting critics with photos of the couple’s two children, 7-year-old Willow Sage and 2-year-old Jameson Moon, taking part in eyebrow-raising activities, Pink is pulling back after trolls threatened to “call child services” over a pic she recently shared. Critics came after her because her toddler was pictured without a diaper on, which she didn’t realize when she posted the photo.
The singer announced to Ellen DeGeneres that she will no longer share photos of her kids on social media after commenters said “some of the nastiest things” in response to her son’s nakedness.
“I cried so hard after that because I like to share my family. It’s my proudest moment in my whole life,” she told DeGeneres during a visit to her talk show. “I’m prouder of my kids than anything I’ve ever done and I won’t share them anymore. I won’t do it. I’m not posting pictures of them anymore.”
She also acknowledged that she often gets flak online, with comments like “what kind of a mother do you think you are?” left underneath posts featuring her kids.
“So many people on social media go in on me all the time,” she shared.
“I feel like I can change their minds,” she added of her efforts to occasionally respond to trolls. “I’m all about injustice. I don’t like injustice. I don’t like how brave people are anonymously, and rude! Just mean ... mean-spirited. And so I do, I go in. If I have time, I go in.”
Sure enough, she fired back at those who complained about her son’s missing diaper.
“I deleted [the original post] because you’re all f***ing disgusting,” she told critics. “And now I’m turning off my comments and shaking my head at the state of social media and keyboard warriors and the negativity that you bring to other people’s lives. There is something seriously wrong with a lot of you out there.”
The star did tell DeGeneres that she is “open” to feedback, so long as it’s done with “kindness.” She cited a recent example in which a fan politely explained why the term “gypsy,” which the pop star had used in a post, was “derogatory,” which Pink says she appreciated.
