Portland Dragon Boat Festival, Tacos and Margs Crawl among events this weekend
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — It’s finally Friday. And it doesn’t matter if you’re looking to escape the heat in an air-conditioned building or stay outside, there’s still plenty to do in Portland.
Here are some of the city’s top events this weekend.
PDX offers free parking to those who patron businesses in new main terminal
Lil Duval
When: Multiple times from Friday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 8
Where: Helium Comedy Club, 1510 SE Ninth Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Comedian, actor and musician Lil Duval has booked five shows at the Helium Comedy Club through the weekend. He is best known for his appearances on MTV’s “Guy Code” and “Hip Hop Squares.”
Portland Weird Fest
When: Saturday, Sept. 7
Where: Oaks Amusement Park, 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, OR 97202
Weird Portland United, an organization that remains true to the slogan “Keep Portland Weird,” promises to bring “weird” vendors, performers, costumes and more to Oaks Amusement Park. General admission costs $1 for kids and $15 for adults, who can also receive discounted ride tickets.
Portland Tacos and Margs Crawl
When: Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m.
Where: Multiple locations
Five bars including Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub, Rialto Poolroom and Moxy will offer food and drink specials for Portland’s Tacos and Margs Crawl. Participants who visit every venue will have the opportunity to win prizes.

Bacon and Wine Pairing
When: Saturday, Sept. 7 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 8 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Hip Chicks Do Wine, 4510 SE 23rd Ave, Portland, OR 97202
A $30 ticket to this event includes a flight of six wines, along with three tasty “bacon-centric appetizers.” The organizers encourage customers to reserve a spot to ensure there will be enough bacon.
Portland Dragon Boat Festival
When: Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where: Tom McCall Waterfront Park, 98 SW Naito Pkwy, Portland, OR 97204
Watch dozens of teams from California, Oregon and Washington compete in the Portland Dragon Boat Festival for its 25th anniversary. The family-friendly event will also include a beer garden and food vendors.

When: Saturday, Sept. 7 and Sunday, Sept. 8
Where: Midtown Beer Garden, 431 SW Harvey Milk St, Portland, OR 97204
A Downtown Portland food cart pod will host this local music festival for all ages. The two-day lineup includes Growing Pains, The Fur Coats and Palmas Del Sol.

Multicultural Kids Festival
When: Sunday, Sept. 8 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Ventura Park, 460 SE 113th Ave., Portland, OR 97216
Organized by the Slavic Community Center of NW, this free event brings families of all backgrounds together to showcase diversity in Portland. The festival will feature different traditions, arts and crafts, and food.
