Prince Charles, Will and Kate, and the Queen All Wish Archie a Happy Birthday
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's son Archie turns 1 today, and while the Sussexes are currently social distancing in their new home in California, members of the royal family are still celebrating the youngster's birthday, albeit virtually.
Early this morning, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared well-wishes for their nephew on the Kensington Palace Instagram.
They posted a portrait from Archie's christening last summer along with the message "Wishing Archie a very happy first birthday today! ??"
The picture, which was taken in Windsor Castle's Green Drawing Room features not only the Cambridges, the Sussexes, and baby Archie, but also Prince Charles and Camilla, Meghan's mother Doria, and two of Princess Diana's siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.
Prince Charles also posted a photo in honor of his grandson's special day along with the note, "A very Happy Birthday to Archie, who turns one today."
If the picture—which shows three generations of royals—looks familiar, that's because Harry and Meghan first shared it publicly on Prince Charles's birthday back in November on the now-defunct SussexRoyal Instagram account, where they also revealed that to Archie, Prince Charles goes by Grandpa.
And the Queen didn't forget her youngest great-grandchild. The more general Royal Family Instagram account, which represents not Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, but also a number of other royals including Prince Edward, the Countess of Wessex, and Princess Anne, uploaded a photo of the Queen and Prince Philip meeting their great-grandson Archie for the first time last spring.
"Happy Birthday to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor who is celebrating his 1st birthday today! ????" reads the caption on the tender photo.
