Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis Love Video-Chatting Their Grandparents
Anyone can understand the frustrations that come along with having toddlers on a video call—especially the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
As social distancing continues to be best practice in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, all social interactions have been moved online. Across the world, children are video chatting with their grandparents, including the little Cambridges.
In an interview with the BBC, Prince William and Kate Middleton described the recent video calls between the children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and their grandparents, Prince Charles and Camilla and Carole and Michael Middleton.
"I think your father and my parents and our families and things like that have really loved keeping in touch with the children, because they know it’s really hard," Kate said.
However, using technology with, say, an older generation does not come without its challenges. Prince William confessed there has been a bit of a learning curve.
"As you can imagine, the younger generation are a little bit more tech-savvy. But only just," William revealed. "I think we’re getting there now, the family are getting a little bit more used to being able to contact each other and pressing the right buttons and not dropping the computer halfway through."
It's not just the older family members who have caused some complications. Prince Louis seems to be quite the troublemaker when it comes to video chatting. "It gets a bit hectic, I’m not going to lie, with the two-year-old," Kate conceded.
"For some reason he sees the red button, and always wants to press the red button," William replied, laughing.
Despite the technical glitches, William and Kate agreed that it is important for the children to stay connected with other family members. Like for many of us, video calls have helped the royal couple maintain some sense of normalcy for their kids.
"It’s been a really good way of keeping in touch and seeing each other," William said.
