Prince William and Kate Middleton Welcome Third Royal Baby
It’s official: Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a new baby brother.
On Monday, April, 23, 2018, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton welcomed their third child into the world. In a tweet, Kensington Palace shared that the new prince was born at 11:01 a.m., weighing 8 pounds, 7 ounces.
Middleton gave birth in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, the same hospital and wing where she gave birth to both Prince George in 2013 and Princess Charlotte in 2015. It’s also the same hospital where Princess Diana and Prince Charles welcomed Prince William and Prince Harry into the world.
Per tradition, an official letter noting the newest member of the Windsor family’s birth time, sex, and weight was posted on an easel outside Buckingham Palace, followed by the official royal tweet.
Now, the only thing left to decide is if baby will make an appearance at his Uncle Harry’s royal wedding on May 19. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are both expected to be on hand for the big day and may even walk down the aisle as a ring bearer and a flower girl.
“The wedding will be a family event,” a spokesperson for Kensington Palace told The Sunday Times. “You can expect the family to be involved.”
