Queen Elizabeth II purchased her apartment with a similar set-up in the building for $7.9 million in 2015. The luxury plaza in Midtown East was designed by Lord Norman Foster, who the Queen knighted in 1990.
The 3,004-square-foot apartment currently for rent is Residence 17B, which shares the floor with only one other residence. Her Majesty’s apartment is the floor directly above. Hopefully she isn’t much of a stomper because I can’t imagine having to go ask a monarch to keep it down.
Residence 17B has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a fully-equipped chef’s kitchen, a dining room, a powder room, 11-foot floor to ceiling windows with unobstructed river views, and comes fully furnished. The master bedroom has two walk-in closets with custom motorized shades, and we don’t need to know anything else about the home.
The building was completed in 2015, and has 43 floors and only 88 residences. Privacy is valued (which perhaps helped attract the Queen), and you'll have access to private valeted underground parking.
Maybe you’ll even run into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle while going for a dip in the plaza’s 75-foot swimming pool or catch the Queen pumping iron in the building’s gym.
