The Real-Life Small Town in Hallmark's 'A Majestic Christmas' Is Full of Holiday Spirit
Hallmark viewers can always expect plenty of romance and holiday cheer from "Countdown to Christmas" movies. But beyond the mistletoe kisses and snowy scenes, the films may inspire a little wanderlust, too.
With its very own main street and lineup of charming shops, it's no wonder Hallmark chose Ormstown in Québec, Canada as the site of their latest feature, A Majestic Christmas. The small town of just 3,595 residents served as the backdrop for Briar Falls, the fictional town at the heart of the festive film.
Earlier this year, the entire cast and crew traveled to the picturesque village-with tons of crushed ice in tow-to make some movie magic, according to Le Journal Saint-Fran?ois. Several local shops even dressed up their stores in holiday style to complement the film's Yuletide theme.
In the feature, architect Nell Porter (Jerrika Hinton) returns to her hometown to reluctantly help Connor (Christian Vincent), a profit-focused businessman, overhaul their historic theater. After Nell convinces Connor to allow the theater to host the town's annual Christmas pageant, the two grow closer while they try to determine the building's future.
While there's no real-life theater to visit (the moviemakers used a local restaurant for exterior shots), you can still get the Christmastime experience featured in the film by visiting Ormstown's Lambton Street during the holiday season.
A Majestic Christmas is just one of the many merry movies Hallmark has filmed around the globe this year. From the small countryside towns of Georgia to the castles of Romania, there's no shortage of stunning scenery on the network with even more to come as their annual "Countdown to Christmas" lineup continues. We can't wait to see where they go next!
