Rebel Wilson Sends Stern Message to Sacha Baron Cohen Over Threats About Her Memoir
Rebel Wilson, Sacha Baron Cohen
Rebel Wilson didn't mince words when she called out fellow actor and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen on social media this morning.
Wilson, 44, took to Instagram with a brash statement claiming that Baron Cohen, 52, was "bullying" the Pitch Perfect alum over his inclusion in her upcoming memoir, Rebel Rising.
"I will not be bullied or silenced with high priced lawyers or PR crisis managers," Wilson wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, March 25. "The ‘a--hole’ that I am talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my book is Sacha Baron Cohen."
The pair of feuding celebrities worked together in 2016 on the R-rated 2016 comedy-action film, The Brothers Grimsby.
Her new comments come after the Australian actress teased the contents of her soon-to-be-released memoir–set to hit shelves on Tuesday, April 2–in which she said she explains why she has stricter boundaries regarding who she'll work with.
"Do you wanna know why I have a ‘no a--holes’ policy now with people I work with?” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Well it’s all in the book.” She vowed, “Oh and YES I name the a--hole!”
In response to Wilson’s new post, which named the former colleague, a rep for Baron Cohen denied the accusations in a statement shared with Us Weekly, which read: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby.”
Parade has reached out to Baron Cohen's rep for comment.
