Registration open soon for Huntsville Parks & Rec fall break camps

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville City School students can soon register for the Huntsville Parks and Recreation’s fall break camps.

Fall camp registration opens September 3 and will run through September 23. Space is limited and is filled on a first-come first-serve basis. Each kid requires a separate application.

Feeding food deserts in North Alabama

From September 30 to October 4, full-day camps will be available at:

  • Mark Russell

  • Cavalry Hill

  • Richard Showers

  • Fern Bell

Full-day camps will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The camps are for kids in grades one through six. The fee for the first child is $50 and then the fee is $30 for each additional sibling.

Activities at the full-day camp include art, outdoor play and games supervised by professional staff. A snack will be provided but kids are expected to bring their own lunch.

There will also be two half-day specialty camps available. They will run from September 30 through October 4. There is a fee of $25 per kid and $10 for each sibling.

A Jurassic experience roars back to the Rocket City

STEM Camp will run from 8:30-11:30 a.m., at the Dr. Robert Shurney Legacy Center. Campers will dive into various STEM activities and will explore different career paths.

Little Picasso Art Camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Optimist Recreation Center. This camp will feature themed art projects for grades one through six.
