Rescue Crews Rush to Free Farm Animals Who Got Stuck in California Mud
Cows, horses and bulls were saved.
For the past few months, California has been getting hit with rainstorm after rainstorm. With this unprecedented amount of rain has come dangerous flooding and mudslides, among other problems. And those incidents, unfortunately, then bring on rescues for both animals and humans.
Last Wednesday, 17 farm animals were rescued in San Bernardino County after they got stuck in the mud. There were cows, horses and bulls. We’re so thankful for the quick response and action of multiple people to get these animals to safety. Take a look at some of the rescue footage and the report from ABC7.
Ugh, this is so scary. We can’t imagine what was going on through the minds of these farm animals. They were stuck deep in the mud. We just know we’d be panicking if that ever happened to us, or any of our animals because it’s not easy to get out of the mud.
The fire department and San Bernardino County Animal Control both immediately responded to the scene. A skid steer was set up to clear a path and bring the animals to safety. Unfortunately, one of the animals was found dead, according to the ABC7 report. But all the other animals were then taken to the Devore Animal Shelter for a full veterinarian evaluation. We’re hoping and praying for a speedy recovery for these animals.
YouTube user @nicolebixenman1227 commented, "Oh my gosh, poor animals. This is so sad." It completely breaks our hearts to see this in the news. We hope no other animals have to go through this scary situation.
