Riley Keough Remembers Late Family Members on Bittersweet Day

Riley Keough is thinking about her late loved ones on a heartbreaking anniversary.

On July 12, which marks three years since the actress' brother Benjamin's passing, Riley shared a photo on her Instagram Story of her sibling hugging their late mom Lisa Marie Presley, who died six months ago, from behind. The Zola star captioned it, "Missing you both ??."

Benjamin died of suicide in 2020 at 27 years old. Riley and Benjamin's mother Presley died in January 2023 at 54 years old from a cardiac arrest, two days after attending the Golden Globes.

In 2022, Presley penned an essay for National Grief Awareness Day, honoring her son, which she shared via People.

"I've dealt with death, grief and loss since the age of 9 years old. I've had more than anyone's fair share of it in my lifetime and somehow, I've made it this far," she wrote.

Presley continued, "But this one, the death of my beautiful, beautiful son? The sweetest and most incredible being that I have ever had the privilege of knowing, who made me feel so honored every single day to be his mother? Who was so much like his grandfather on so many levels that he actually scared me? Which made me worry about him even more than I naturally would have? No. Just no…no no no no…"

July 12 is a bittersweet day for Riley, as she also received the news of becoming a first-time Emmy nominee for her starring role in Daisy Jones & The Six. She celebrated the accomplishment in an Instagram Story, writing, "Feeling very blessed thank you @televisionacad."
