Rising Country Star Details Disastrous Meeting With Idol Miranda Lambert

Up-and-coming talent Megan Moroney got to meet her idol, country superstar Miranda Lambert, but the experience probably wasn't the kind she always dreamt of.

The 25-year-old country crooner opened up about the first time she met the "Mama's Broken Heart" singer, telling Evan Paul, the host of radio show Taste of Country Nightsthat she "accidentally stepped on her."

The conversation came about when Paul asked Moroney who her dream collaboration would be with, to which she responded Lambert. He then followed up by asking Moroney if she had ever met the award-winning artist, and her response was not what anyone expected to hear.

"I did. I accidentally stepped on her at Red Door," she revealed, recalling one of the many bars in Nashville known for its live performances from rising local and visiting talent.

"I had just gotten my fake ID taken at Nudies on Broadway, but somehow Red Door let me in with my second backup fake ID," Moroney said with a laugh. "I was in there, I was literally in sweatpants. I stepped back, and I stepped on someone on accident, and I turn around like, 'Oh my God, I'm so sorry.' And it was Miranda Lambert. I was like, 'I am really so sorry.'"

Moroney noted that the "White Liar" singer, 39, was incognito, wearing a hat and glasses, so it was hard to tell exactly who it was, but she knew right away.

That isn't the only humbling run-in Moroney has had with an A-lister. The "Tennessee Orange" songstress also told the show's host that she met Kacey Musgraves once. While she didn't step on her, at the time, Moroney was only wearing one shoe.

"I've met Kacey Musgraves with one shoe on," she said. "I had one shoe on because I had just gotten knee surgery, so I had this really big cast thing on my leg —so I had one cowgirl boot on."
