The Royal Family Just Announced Its Third Royal Wedding in a Year
Royal wedding fever isn't over yet. Buckingham Palace just announced the engagement of Lady Gabriella Windsor-daughter of Prince Michael of Kent, who is first cousins with Queen Elizabeth II-to her boyfriend Thomas Kingston, according to People.
The Palace reportedly said in a statement, per People:
"Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston. The engagement took place in August, Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark."
The wedding is expected to take place in Spring 2019, marking the third royal wedding we'll have seen in a year, following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's in May 2018 and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's next month.
It's likely we'll see familiar royal faces like Prince William and Kate Middleton at her nuptials, since Lady Gabriella attended their wedding in 2011.
Lady Gabriella, 37, is third cousins with Prince William and Prince Harry. Commonly known as just "Ella," she's a Senior Director at Branding Latin America and contributor to London magazine, the Palace announced.
Meanwhile, her new fiancé Tom Kingston "works in frontier market investment and is a Director of Devonport Capital," according to the statement. According to British tabloids, he once dated Kate Middleton's sister, Pippa Middleton.
Although she's not as often in the spotlight as her high-profile cousins, Lady Gabriella recently made headlines this spring after one of her ex-boyfriends, Aatish Taseer, who dated her in the 2000s, wrote an op-ed in Vanity Fair about their time together in London, which included some unsettling racist allegations about her mom, Princess Michael of Kent. The Princess was also accused of wearing a racist brooch to the Queen's Christmas lunch last year, which Meghan Markle attended.
