Sailor Brinkley Cook Debuted Blonde Eyebrows on Instagram
Sailor Brinkley Cook’s DNA is 50 percent supermodel, so the 18-year-old daughter of Christie Brinkley is bound to take some beauty risks.
On Friday, Sailor shared the results of a blonde beauty experiment. In a selfie posted to Instagram, the model poses in front of a mirror, pulling up her T-shirt to reveal her toned abs, and showing off what appear to be bleached eyebrows. “My eyebrows fell off,” Sailor wrote in the caption of the post with more than 2,300 likes.

And with that, Sailor joined the ranks of celebrities who have waded into the eyebrow bleaching trend.
In 2014, while sporting dark tresses, Kim Kardashian lightened her brows for an appearance at Kendall Jenner’s 19th birthday party, hashtagging her Instagram post #DontBeScaredOfMyBleachedBrows.

Kardashian tried the futuristic look again at the 2016 Met Gala to complement her metallic Balmain dress.
Supermodel Cara Delevingne, who is famous for her full, dark brows, also went platinum for the Givenchy runway at Paris Fashion Week in 2014.
Katy Perry showed off processed brows in a 2014 Instagram post and again in 2015 for the cover of Wonderland magazine.
And Lady Gaga bleaches her brows every day, she told Vogue in 2016, “They’re more versatile for a beauty look. You can draw [your eyebrows] any way you want when they’re bleached.”
Is eyebrow bleaching a trend best left to daring celebrities? Or can the average woman pull it off?
“Bleached eyebrows usually don’t complement the face, as it eliminates a very strong and important focus point,” Emilia Berry, permanent makeup expert and founder of Permaline Cosmetics, tells Yahoo Beauty. “The eyebrows highlight and define the eye, so lack of eyebrows subdues the ability to show emotion and expressions in a face.”
She adds, “The eyebrow area is much more sensitive than the head. Using bleach can permanently destroy the hair follicles, leading to hair loss.”
That said, there are exceptions. “Dying eyebrows to a lighter shade is acceptable within the range of complementing hair and skin color,” says Berry. “But bleaching to the point of transparency is a bold fashion statement and best suited for the runway or a special occasion.”
