Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg's Golden Globes Opening Monologue Was Cringey and Twitter Can't Deal

Killing Eve's Sandra Oh and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Andy Samberg just opened the Golden Globes, and they made every joke they possibly could about 2018 in their opening monologue. Some were OK, sure, but most were cringey. Like, they complimented people... as a joke.
Basically, Twitter was not impressed by it.
While Samberg has hosted major awards shows before, like the Emmys, but this is Oh's first time hosting a major award show. She's also a nominee in the best actress award for Killing Eve.
In the promotional material for the show, the two joked about how they had only met a few times before they hosted. They had five days to prepare.
And in case you're looking for a little preview of what's to come, in a pre-show interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the two talked about how they wanted to keep things light and fun, and definitely avoid talking about Donald Trump.
"I don't think it's shallow to 1) have fun and 2) be honestly celebratory," Oh said. "And I'm not interested in [talking about Trump] at all. What I'm interested in is pointing to actual real change."
Happy Globes, everybody!
