We’re Saving All Our Love for the New Whitney Houston Documentary
Grab the tissues, pop in your Whitney Houston greatest hits CD and warm up those vocal cords because the first Whitney trailer just dropped.
The teaser for the upcoming documentary about the iconic late singer’s life opens on her belting out her hit “I Have Nothing.” Her beautiful voice continues as a montage of enraptured fans, touching interviews and behind-the-scenes footage pulls on our heartstrings.
In poignant interviews, Houston’s mother, Cissy, and her brothers, Gary and Michael, remember the songstress’s powerful presence. As Cissy says, “You have three places to sing from—heart, mind, guts. She learned them all.” Amen.
The trailer also highlights the immense pressure that Houston faced in her career and the drug addiction that led to her tragic 2012 death. In a home video, Houston looks at the camera and says, “People think it’s so damn easy. It’s not.”
Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland) helmed the film. Houston’s Bodyguard costar Kevin Costner and legendary music producer Clive Davis also appear in Whitney, celebrating her legacy.
Experience the magic of Whitney Houston all over again when Whitney hits theaters on Friday, July 6. In the meantime, we’ll be working on our stage presence.
