One of the very first homes ever featured on Fixer Upper just hit the market! Listed by AG Real Estate & Associates, the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom farmhouse in Crawford, TX, was the subject of season 1's episode, titled "Professor and Family Crave Country Climate." Devan and Hannah Jonklaas took a chance on the damaged home, buying it for $197,000 and investing $48,000 in renovations. With the help of Chip and Joanna Gaines, the house went from "scary to sensational."
But Chip's estimated resale value of $305,000 is $170,000 short of the asking price - perhaps because of the subsequent success of the HGTV show and its impact on Waco-area real estate.
"We had full intention of this being our forever home," the homeowners told listing agent Blair Gulley, who passed along to statement to CountryLiving.com, "but we felt a call to live among students at Baylor University where Devan has taken a position to be a Faculty in Residence to offer guidance and community in their first pivotal years of attending college."
