See ‘Great British Bake Off’ Judges Try Girl Scout Cookies For the First Time
Dame Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood are trying Girl Scout Cookies for the first time, and their reaction has proved devastating to some hardcore fans.
Food magazine Bon Appetit sat the pair down to introduce them to a variety of American treats, and they're sharing the results of the taste tests on Instagram.
"We gave @britishbakeoff hosts @prueleith and Paul Hollywood their first taste of Thin Mints. They did not fare well against Oreos," the magazine teased in the caption of the video.
The clip opened with Leith reading the information on a box of Thin Mints. “These are Girl Scout Cookies,” she explained to viewers. “And they’re called Thin Mints.”
“What color chocolate is that?” Hollywood asked in seeming disgust as they unveiled the cookies from their sleeve. Similarly, Leith observed that the treats looked “as if it’s been around a while,” with the two agreeing that the chocolate coating appeared to have “lost its shine.”
They powered through the appearance, though, and seemed pleasantly surprised to find they actually liked the beloved American cookies, with Hollywood commenting, “Nice,” and Leith approving of their texture.
But at the end of the day, Leith says Oreos "take the biscuit," with Hollywood agreeing that he couldn't have another Thin Mint but he could help himself to another of the sandwich cookies.

A cookie-based war broke out in the comments, with fans stunned by their opinions.
"As a GBBO fan, I cannot believe I’m about to type this, but this clip is hard evidence which proves their taste in cookies or 'biscuits' is absolutely incorrect and they cannot be trusted," one betrayed fan wrote.
"DO NOT COME FOR OUR THIN MINTS!!" another wrote, adding, "also did they eat oreos without milk like MONSTERS??"
"The first person in history to only have 1 thin mint," the official account for The Cuterie, a charcuterie restaurant in Texas commented.
"Should’ve tried the actual elite GS cookie, the Tagalongs," another suggested, while several others pointed out, 'Thin mints are only supposed to be eaten frozen. Rookie move."
"Why didn’t we freeze them? ??," the magazine followed up in a comment.
