Selena and Her Mom Unfollowed Each Other on Insta
Selena Gomez and her mother Mandy Teefey have just unfollowed each other on Instagram, suggesting there may be some tension between them before the holidays.
Fans noticed the two no longer showing up on each other's follow list hours after a TMZ report went out that Teefey was voluntarily hospitalized last week (and released same day) after having a "heated conversation" with Gomez about her relationship with Justin Bieber. Gomez allegedly told her mother that she and the Biebs were in couples' therapy, and Teefey "flipped...realizing the relationship was going to be more long-term than she thought."
People confirmed that Teefey had recently visited the hospital - but it wasn't just because of Bieber. “It’s been a stressful time for Mandy and she made the decision herself to go to the hospital and make sure everything was okay,” a source close to the family told People. “This wasn’t just about Justin.”
A Gomez source added that “it’s true her family doesn’t approve of Justin, but this wasn’t just over a fight about him.”
TMZ and People have both reported via sources that Gomez's family is not a fan of Bieber because of the way he treated her previously. "Selena’s family is still not happy about her seeing Justin,” a source told People just last week. “Selena doesn’t bring Justin to any family events. Selena is spending Christmas with her family. As of now, Justin is not invited.”
The two went on their first trip since reconciling to Seattle this past weekend and reportedly have plans to spend New Year's Eve together.
Teefey posted on her Instagram yesterday, expressing her love for Gomez, Gomez's younger sister Gracie, and Scarlett, a third child Teefey miscarried. Gomez did not like the post:
