Serena Williams 'really looking forward to' daughter Olympia's next big milestone (Exclusive)
Serena Williams can't wait until she can have two-way conversations with her daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
As evidenced by her social media content involving her 18-month-old toddler, the all-time tennis great talks to her mini-me all the time but, still working toward saying her first word, she isn't able to respond just yet.
"The milestone that everyone looks forward to is talking and being able to have conversations," Williams told AOL exclusively during a recent phone interview. "I’m really looking forward to that. She’s getting there, but she’s also figuring out how to express herself and it’s been really fun."
Williams' daughter, who is her first with husband Alexis Ohanian, definitely expresses herself, too: Whether it's her colorful outfits, hilarious facial expressions, desire to see what her hard-working mom is up to or her up-and-down relationship with her Instagram-famous doll, Qai Qai, she has proven herself to be quite the character already. So much so that, sometimes, Williams finds herself worrying about her wild streak.
"The other day, she was running from the couch to the chair to the couch to the chair and I was like, 'Oh my God, you’re going to hurt yourself!'" she said with a laugh. "But I also don’t have to worry too much, because we’re usually just at our house, which is enclosed and safe."
Another way that Williams has adapted to her daughter's affinity for activity and adventure is Pampers' new Cruisers 360 FIT, a new #WildChild line for which the world-renowned athlete is "head coach."
"These were made for her," she explained to AOL. "She's always running around and, with other diapers, I would find that I would have her on my lap and then it would be like, 'Uh oh...,' so this is perfect for us."

During her first year and a half as a mother, Williams has also had the luxury of having her family around to help care for her daughter and enjoy these special first few years with her growing little family.
"They’re always around and it’s been really great having my family around, especially my mom, who has been there to help from day one," Williams told us. "She’s been a mom five times over, so she definitely knows what she’s doing. And my sisters love being around, because they just want to help and have fun with us."
