A Series of Unfortunate Events 2 gets release date
Netflix totally took advantage of yesterday's frazzled New Year's day state to announce the release date for the second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) made the big reveal himself as he intro-ed a teaser trailer (while roasting audiences for their NYE festivities).
"Hey you. Yes you, the one who clearly seems to have burned the midnight oil," Olaf said.
"I'm so sorry to disturb your 'recovery', but it's time for us to get this New Year's Day binge started.
"Now there may be some of you who are surprised that Netflix would choose this to be the first face you see in 2018.
"But those are the same people who wouldn't recognise handsome if it set your house on fire.
"So dive on in, distract yourself with this first look at season 2 of A Series of Unfortunate Events."
Deep breath.
"Premiering March 30."
So that's when you'll be able to get your next fix of the adaptation of Lemony Snicket's 13 novels.
Season one covered the first four books The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window and The Miserable Mill.
Season two will take in books five to nine, so that's The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital and The Carnivorous Carnival.
And completists don't have to worry about this being a His Dark Materials/Girl With the Dragon Tattoo situation... a third season has ALREADY been confirmed by Netflix to round off the series with The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril and The End.
Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Presley Smith star as the orphaned Baudelaire children in the twisted kids TV show.
Joining the series in the second run is Nathan Fillion, who reunites with his former Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog star NPH.
Also added to the cast this time around are Veep star Tony Hale, Popular's Sara Rue, Into the Woods' Lucy Punch and Desperate Housewives' Roger Bart.
