Sheryl Lee Ralph Gets Nostalgic With Throwback 'Moesha' Photos on 27th Anniversary

The actress fondly reflected on her role as Dee Mitchell, calling it, 'Such a wonderful time in my life.'

Sheryl Lee Ralph has over 100 Hollywood credits and multiple acting awards under her belt, but one experience, in particular, has been so rewarding that nearly three decades later, she's happy to celebrate its impact.

The actress shared a few throwback photos of herself joined by the cast of the iconic '90s sitcom Moesha, and her very sentimental caption almost made us reach for the tissues.

"Can you believe just 27 years ago #Moesha, premiered on UPN?! Such a wonderful time in my life," she recalled in the post, which also included a tribute to her late co-stars, "Rest in perfect peace Lamont Bentley and Yvette Wilson. We miss you."

The first picture shared by the star looked to be a cast photo from the show's early days, featuring Ralph (as Dee Mitchell), Brandy (as Moesha Mitchell), Marcus Paulk (Myles Mitchell), Countess Vaughn (Kimberly Parker), William Allen Young (Frank Mitchell), Bentley (Hakeem Campbell) and Wilson (Andell Wilkerson).

Ralph also tagged the show's co-creator, Sara Finney Johnson, as well as a few writers and producers, including Felicia D. Henderson and Ralph Farquhar.

The second and third images showed the group of Moesha co-stars as they grew up on the series, with additional cast members like Shar Jackson (as Niecy Jackson) making an appearance.

The Abbott Elementary star concluded the throwback post with a clip from the pilot episode, which originally aired on Jan. 23, 1996.

Her former co-stars also showered the show's big anniversary with love in the comments.

"My forever family!????????," exclaimed Jackson, while Paulk kept it simple with a few emojis, "??????."

"??My Family ??," squealed Vaugh.

"Thank you Soror for being a vital part of the #Moesha cast!???? 27 years ago, I was blessed to meet you and the entire AMAZING Cast & Crew and see a dream realized. Forever grateful to ALL of you!?????? ," Johnson gushed.

Feeling nostalgic? Moesha made its debut 27 years ago today via United Paramount Network (UPN) and ran for six seasons before the series finale aired on May 14, 2001. The entire series is currently available to stream on Prime Video and Hulu, with multiple seasons also streaming via Netflix and Pluto TV.
