Six Flags Will Give You $300 and Season Passes to Spend 30 Hours in a ‘Slightly Used’ Coffin

Halloween is in full swing, and Six Flags as a spooky challenge that is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Six Flags St. Louis is celebrating Fright Fest with a 30-hour Coffin Challenge. Yes, you read that correctly. Six very brave guests will be charged with having to stay in “slightly used” coffins — we won’t ask exactly what that means — for 30 hours, from 1 p.m. on October 13 to 7 p.m. on October 14, Inside Edition reported.

It’s unclear as to whether the coffins will be open or shut. We sincerely hope they’ll remain open, since the average person consumes about 0.5 liters of oxygen per minute, according to PopSci, which means that suffocating in a coffin could possibly take only five and a half hours, depending on the person and how tightly sealed their coffin of choice is.

But don’t worry, the park is taking precautions. According to Inside Edition, contestants will be given a bathroom break every hour for six minutes, which is plenty of time to catch their breath again. They will also be provided food and water, as well as be able to keep a friend nearby for company (or possibly sanity). Now, they just have to deal with the onset of claustrophobia.

Even worse, contestants must be left alone after the park is closed, and they can’t even ride the rides. But according to the Six Flags website, some of the park’s Fright Fest Freaks (actors who play spooky characters) will be “lurking.”

Sadly, therapy is not a prize for this contest.

The winner will receive two 2019 Gold Season passes, a Fright Fest package (including two VIP Haunted House passes and a ticket for two on the Freak Train), and $300. They even get to keep the coffin. How nice?
