What are the slideshow games people are playing on TikTok?
Many TikTokers are staying up late pretending to be in fantasy worlds thanks to a recent style of slideshow games on the app.
One of the newest trends on TikTok is a slideshow game, which forces the user to make a decision on each slide, similar to the Choose Your Own Adventure books of the 1990s. The goal of the game is to continually make the right decision. These games cover a wide range of scenarios, from working at Starbucks to surviving as a Mafia wife.
The games are created with TikTok’s slideshow feature, with some activities having more than 20 slides. These slideshows aren’t filters or fully built-out games that allow users to press buttons and interact with them. Instead, TikTokers simply make the choice in their head and see the result on the next slide. Still, enough people are interested in this to make it a trend.

This version of the game forces the TikToker to make the correct drink choice for customers based on the information and stereotypes given to them. There is normally more than just one right answer, but if you misread the information, your game could be over quickly. In these games, there’s also often a twist, causing the user to face a fictional life-or-death situation. With this amount of pressure riding on every decision, some TikTokers have been stressed out at all times of the night.
“POV me at 3 am seeing whether or not the dress I picked for my wedding survives my wedding with the rich CEO with a net worth of 300M,” wrote @amindsged2 in her post.
“POV: it’s 3am and you just got fired from Sephora because u gave someone a blush they already had when they didn’t tell you,” wrote @zzllohh.
Many times when people play these games, it comes with a soundtrack. The main song associated with this trend is a sped-up version of “Money, Money, Money” by ABBA created by @speedsmusic1. The audio has over 27,000 videos attributed to it, with slideshow games taking up a big portion of said posts.
The swipe games have already put TikTokers in numerous different situations. As long as creators continue to come up with scenarios, users will keep trying their best to survive in these games.
