Will Smith Breaks Silence on Rumors About His Sexuality
Will Smith
Will Smith is breaking his silence amid the influx of rumors suggesting he once slept with his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Duane Martin.
“This story is completely fabricated and the claim is unequivocally false," a representative for the actor told People of the claim originated by Smith's former assistant Brother Bilaal.
Bilaal insisted he witnessed the alleged sexual encounter during an appearance on the Unwine With Tasha K podcast, during which he claimed to have seen Smith and Martin hooking up in a dressing room—something he described in graphic detail.
Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, already denied the allegation earlier this week, telling TMZ, "We suin'!"
She reiterated that intention in a new preview of an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, where she said the couple would be taking "legal action."
Pinkett Smith emphasized the "ridiculous" nature of the rumor—which is not the first of its kind—before seemingly accusing Bilaal of attempted blackmail.
"This is a person that tried a shakedown—a money shakedown—that didn't work; we're gonna take legal action," she explained. "It's one thing to have your opinion about somebody, versus just making up salacious, malicious stories. That's actionable, so we're gonna roll with that."
The couple have been living separate lives for the past seven years, but they clearly still have each others' backs, remaining legally married with no plans to divorce at this time.
Pinkett Smith even defended additional accusations of infidelity and other rumors surrounding her and her husband's sexualities in her recently published memoir Worthy.
The couple share two children together: Jaden, 25, and Willow, 23.
