Snake photobombs girl's back-to-school photoshoot
As students are heading back to school, their parents are proudly sharing photos of their children's first days on social media. But one Auburn, Ala. seventh-grader had a surprise guest in her photo: a snake.
Brooke Mills, an incoming seventh-grader at Auburn City School, stood in her yard as her mother, ShaneJoy Mills, took a photo before her first day of school on Thursday. What the mother and daughter didn't realize during their photoshoot was a large snake on the tree, directly behind Brooke, seemingly staring at her.
"Well 7th grade here she comes," Brooke’s father shared on Facebook. "Appears a friend wanted to go with her. Lucky for [Brooke] he looked like his belly was already full."
Brooke’s mother called the ordeal “scary.”
“I got two pictures and said ‘Show your teeth please, baby!’ Then I saw the snake. I said, ‘Brooke come here’ and she looked at me like I’m not done taking pics! So I said, ‘Brooke get away from the tree now.’ I said it calmly, but I’m sure my face said it all,” Mills said, according to WRBL.
Yahoo Lifestyle reached out to ShaneJoy Mills for comment and will update this post when we hear back.
While it is unknown what type of snake it was, commenters on Facebook seem to be in agreement that it is a relatively harmless rat snake.
