Is Something About Her Sandwich Shop Open? Ariana Just Gave a Crucial Update
Business as usual. Something About Her—the Sandwich shop will be open quite soon, according to its owners. Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney, who star in Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, are on their way to be sandwich royalty.
On why they wanted to steer from bartending at SUR to restaurant owners, Madix told Forbes, “The majority of our life experience has been in restaurants with bartending, so kind of leaning into that more and not trying to run away from that—and not having it feel like this is for the show, or this is for story. No, this is something I’m going to be doing long after the show.”

Despite the massive Bravo success, there’s definitely been some hiccups before opening up. “Every person we’ve talked to that’s done this before has been like ‘just get ready,’ so we knew to expect it,” says Maloney. “I think it’s just learning everything and troubleshooting and pivoting. Not giving up and trusting yourselves and your instincts, but also trusting that the outcome is going to be worth it—that the juice will be worth the squeeze.”

Has Something About Her sandwich shop opened?
Something About Her hasn’t opened yet, but Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney are hoping that it’s slated to open in 2024. The sandwich shop was supposed to open in 2023, but had many delays.
Madix shared with BravoTV.com that they had “a lot of hoops” that they had to jump through, which were causing these delays. “We had to get a new water heater for the building,” Ariana said. They are currently going through another round of inspections and will finally go ahead with the opening when they “get the go-ahead.”
Something About Her Menu
Despite not being open yet, Something About Her has an extensive menu according to the owners. “We have an incredible menu,” she said to BravoTV. “Amazing staff. Very excited people ready to go. So we’re just kind of waiting on that thumbs up, that stamp of approval.”
The duo even revealed what would be on the menu at BravoCon. Madix was excited about “a sandwich that involves lots of hot peppers and anything salty, pickled.” Meanwhile, Maloney has shared on social media how they were making the bread for the shop. “We can’t just have sliced bread. What are you thinking?” she said on an Instagram story. “And, yeah, now I’m slipping into a carb coma, ’cause that is a real thing… I cannot wait for y’all to taste our sandwiches.” They also hinted that there will be gluten-free options as well.
What happened between Ariana Madix & Tom Sandoval?
Ariana, a cast member on Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules, dated her co-star, Tom Sandoval, from 2014 to 2023. They split in February 2023 after news broke that Tom cheated on Ariana with their Vanderpump Rules co-star, Raquel Leviss, whom he had been having an affair with for seventh months.
“To be very clear, I didn’t lose him. He lost me,” Ariana said in an interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in May 2023, two months after news broke of Tom and Raquel’s affair. “But I think that I trusted in him so much … that I trusted his perspective on things.” She continued, “I feel like we would have so many amazing times together, so then if there was a couple weeks that were not great or if I was, like, unsure about something [in the relationship], there was so much other stuff that was great. … It was almost, I think, hard to say, ‘Oh, this person’s not right for me,’ because I also had never been in a relationship that long before.”
When asked if she ever “turned a blind eye” in her relationship with Tom, Ariana admitted that she did. “But I think I was given a lot of assistance in doing that because I would bring things up and I would be shot down,” she said. “I was very much committed and I feel like I was doing my absolute best as a partner. But I don’t think I would do anything differently, just because I feel like all I can do is my best — and whether my best was good enough or not for anyone, that’s what it was.”
The two’s relationship was the source of drama in the season 10 reunion show and things between the cast members and time will tell if they’ll get everything figured out.
