Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas Reach Compromise Concerning Kids Amid Divorce Drama

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have reportedly reached an agreement concerning the intended whereabouts of their children while they sift through the terms of their divorce.

The former couple's two daughters—Willa, 3, and D. (whose full name has not been officially released), 14 months—will remain in New York amid impending custody arrangements, according to court documents filed on Monday, Sept. 25, which were obtained by PEOPLE.

The interim consent order states that the Jonas Brothers singer and Game of Thrones actress are obligated to keep their kids in the Southern and Eastern districts of New York, which includes New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley, despite Turner's desire to have them return to the United Kingdom with her.

"The parties have agreed to the entry of the attached proposed Interim Consent Order, without prejudice to either party's claims and defenses, prohibiting the removal of the parties' children from the jurisdictions of the United States District Courts for the Southern & Eastern Districts of New York pending further order of this Court," the documents continue to detail.

If the terms in place are violated, the order explains that the court has the right to "take or cause to be taken measures under Federal or State law, as appropriate, to protect the well-being of the child involved or to prevent the child's further removal or concealment before the final disposition of the petition."

Jonas initially filed for divorce from the actress on Sept. 5.

Keeping in mind previous events in the unraveling dispute, where the X-Men: Dark Phoenix star sued the father of her children citing "unlawful abduction," this seems to be a ruling in favor of the "Not Alone" collaborator. Earlier this month, Turner requested that the children return to England—which the family previously decided would be their "permanent home"—but it doesn't seem like that wish is being granted at this time.

Days after her major legal counter-move, the Do Revenge actress was spotted hanging out with Taylor Swift—whom her estranged husband dated for a short period of time in 2008—on at least two separate occasions since the filing. Bonding over ex stories, maybe?

As for Jonas, his representative shared that he "is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father, and is, of course, also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK."
