SRAC celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with exhibit of works from Puerto Rican artist

Artspace has a special exhibit for Hispanic Heritage Month featuring the works of Lisandra Di Liberto Torres.

Torres was born in Puerto Rico but now lives in Shreveport. Her paintings capture the essence of the Caribbean, reflecting the vivid colors, textures and memories of her upbringing.

She has had an exhibit at the Bossier Arts Council and is excited to have one for the Shreveport Reginal Arts Council.

“It’s an honor for me to be part of BAC and SRAC,” Torres said. "These are great art councils that have helped me and adopted me as if I were from here.”

Torres sees this as an opportunity for people to learn.

“Learn more about me, my culture and about a human being in a foreign land,” she said, “You will see something unique.”

“People should come to experience not only her art, but on opening night there will be costumed characters, Hispanic foods and so much more,” SRAC Marketing Director Casey Jones said.
