Steve Harvey Is Promoting His Standup Spotlight Contest on Instagram and His Fans Are Loving It

Steve Harvey is on the hunt for the "next big comedian" for his Standup Spotlight contest.
Besides being a talk show and radio host, Steve is a stand-up comedian who got his big break back in the late 1980s early 1990s.
Months after NBC canceled his daytime talk show, Steve Harvey is now using his background in comedy for his latest project.
In early October, Steve announced on Instagram that he was looking for the next comedy star via his Standup Spotlight contest. As it turns out, October 8, 1985 was the day Steve won his first comedy competition. From there, he went on to land a gig on Showtime at the Apollo and, eventually, get his own sitcom on the WB network in the 1990s. Knowing how important that first comedy competition victory was for him, Steve is now looking to give someone else the chance to be a winner.
For the past few weeks, the Family Feud host has been asking for comedians to go to SteveHarvey.com/Spotlight and submit video clips of their stand-up routines. Until November 3, anyone can vote for their favorites on his website — four days after that, Steve will announce the winner.
While Steve has been promoting the contest on his Instagram, his fans have been super enthusiastic and encouraging. "This is gonna be big stuff right here!!" one fan wrote. "Do it Steve ?????? Great idea!," another commented. "Bring it Steve??????????????" a different fan said.
Since Steve's daytime show ended in June, it looks like The Original Kings of Comedy star has been having lots of fun. He took a summer vacation across Italy, Croatia, France, and more for his and his wife Marjorie Harvey's 12th anniversary. In mid-October, the couple threw their annual Sand and Soul Festival in Cancún, Mexico.
Once the winner of Steve's comedy contest is announced in the next few days, it's unclear if Steve will take on another big project. With that being said, there's a really good chance fans will get to see Steve hosting Fox's annual New Year's Eve with Steve Harvey: Live from Times Square again. Safe to say, Steve will always be up to something.
