Stock Up on Tissues: ‘The Ranch’ Is Airing Its Final Episodes in January
We heard that The Ranch was ending back in June, but we held out hope that it wasn't true.
Unfortunately for us, the Netflix original comedy is airing its final episodes in January.
The Bennetts are back—and for the last time (cue the tears).
After a three-month hiatus—and a seriously stressful cliffhanger—Netflix’s The Ranch will air the second half of its fourth and final season on January 24.
Dubbed as "Part 8," this final installment of the Netflix-original sitcom will feature 10 episodes, that, despite airing in January, will take place during Christmastime.
According to the show’s logline, “With the ranch in Lisa Neumann's hands and more trouble on the horizon, the Bennetts must band together as they face an uncertain future.”
As a refresher, The Ranch takes place in Colorado and focuses on the family dynamic that follows Colt Bennett’s (Ashton Kutcher) return home after an unsuccessful stint as a semi-pro football player. Once back on the ranch, Colt helps run the family business with his mom (Debra Winger) and dad (Sam Elliott), whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. Throughout the series, Colt goes back and forth with his love life, eventually proposing to his high school sweetheart, Abby (Elisha Cuthbert).
The fan-favorite series was not only Netflix’s first comedy, but also its first attempt at 20-episode seasons broken into two half-seasons. The series was created by Don Reo and Jim Patterson.
And thanks to the well-received country music that fills the background of the show, Netflix has decided to create a soundtrack so that viewers can connect with the series long after streaming its final episode. The 12-song playlist goes on sale the day of the premiere, though it is available for pre-order now.
