Stop & Shop Is Recalling Over 29,000 Cases of Perishable Foods—Here's What You Need to Know
Hundreds of perishable items are now being recalled by C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., a direct supplier for grocery stores across the nation including Stop & Shop. The recall, which affects stores all across the New York Metro Region, was put into action due to several perishable items not being held at an appropriate temperature.

Originally initiated on July 19, 2023 by the FDA, the recall has actually been an ongoing emergency for some time now. Over 29,000 cases of various products are in question and have been narrowed down to being distributed to Stop & Shop locations in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
In an official statement released on July 21, Stop & Shop announced that C&S Wholesale Grocers had initiated a recall of “several produce and other fresh items.” The statement went on to mention how some of the impacted items included “guacamole, salad dressings and juices.” According to Stop & Shop, the temperature at which the perishable items were stored was, in fact, “too high” at the C&S Wholesale Grocer distribution center.

Stop & Shop is urging any customers who purchased items impacted by the recall to discard their unused portions and bring their receipt back to the store for a full refund. Although some of the impacted items may temporarily be out of stock, the chance of getting sick is far less possible now that the recall has been issued. Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported to date in correlation with the recall. If you happen to be curious about the items included, however, a full list of the affected stores can be found here, as well as the specific products in question here.
