The 'Stranger Things' Kids Are Growing Up So Fast
Stranger Things 3 has finally returned to Netflix, and so much time has passed since we last saw the gang. Season 3 sees the Stranger Things kids going through so many changes—from style overhauls to major teen romances. While Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven gets a makeover courtesy of Max in Season 3, Mike and Will battle over whether they're too old to play boardgames anymore. And the Upside Down isn't done causing havoc in Hawkins just yet, either. Here, we take a look at the real life ages of the cast of everyone's favorite '80s-inspired show:
1) Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven)
Millie Bobby Brown was born on February 19, 2004, making her 15 years old when Stranger Things 3 aired. The actress recently got her learner's permit and when she's not hitting the road, she's starring in blockbuster movies and epic fashion campaigns.
2) Finn Wolfhard (Mike)
Eleven's love interest, Mike, is portrayed by Canadian actor Finn Wolfhard. Born on December 23, 2002, Wolfhard was 16 when Stranger Things 3 hit Netflix. From taking on Twitter trolls, to touring with his band, to starring in Saint Laurent campaigns, he's a seriously busy teenager.
3) Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin)
Gaten Matarazzo portrays loveable nerd Dustin on the show. In real life, the actor was born on September 8, 2002, making him 16 years old when Stranger Things 3 hit our screens. The multi-talented actor has an incredible singing voice, and recently had his own prank show greenlit at Netflix.
4) Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas)
New York-born Caleb McLaughlin plays Max's boyfriend Lucas in Stranger Things. When Season 3 was released, McLaughlin was 17 years old, having been born on October 13, 2001. The actor recently revealed his college plans to People when he said, "I was home-schooled before I got into Stranger Things... I just finished high school, I graduated. So I’m done, but I’m going to college this fall."
5) Noah Schnapp (Will)
One of the youngest cast members, Noah Schnapp was only 14 when Stranger Things 3 was released on Netflix. The actor was born on October 3, 2004. Schnapp will next star in a movie called Waiting for Anya, in which he plays a young shepherd helping smuggle Jewish children from France into Spain during World War II, with the help of a widow called Horcada, played by Angelica Huston.
6) Sadie Sink (Max)
Sadie Sink was born on April 16, 2002, making her 17 years old when Stranger Things returned for its third season. The fashion-forward actress recently told MarieClaire.com, "My relationship with Chanel first started before Stranger Things came out... My stylist told me Chanel wanted to dress me for the Stranger Things premiere. It was such a big deal for me." Her next project after Stranger Things 3 is the horror movie Eli.
7) Priah Ferguson (Erica)
The breakout star of Stranger Things 2, Priah Ferguson, was just 12 years old when Season 3 was released. She was born on October 1, 2006. When she's not rocking Marc Jacobs on the red carpet, Ferguson passionately promotes the need for more women of color on our screens. As she recently revealed to @strongblacklead, "Black girls don't have just one story, or one look, or one voice. It shows we've always had range and can lead in these genres. When people see us play strong roles or a variety of roles, it helps the world respect us more in those topics."
8) Joe Keery (Steve)
Everyone's favorite Netflix daddy was born on April 24, 1992, making him 27 on Season 3 release day. From teasing fans with an unseen Speedo moment to being #hairgoals incarnate, Joe Keery's Steve has had the show's most unexpected character development, making us way more thirsty in the process.
10) Dacre Montgomery (Billy)
If you were thirsty for Steve in Season 2, then you better prepare for Billy's thirst-trap performance in Season 3. The bad boy lifeguard is portrayed by Australian actor Dacre Montgomery, who was born on November 33, 1994, making him 24 on release day. Before joining the Netflix hit, Montgomery played a Power Ranger.
11) Charlie Heaton (Jonathan)
British actor Charlie Heaton was born on February 6, 1994, making him 25 years old. In real life, Heaton welcomed his first child in 2014, a son called Archie, way before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made the name popular. The actor, who portrays Will's brother Jonathan on the show, has reportedly been dating onscreen love interest, Natalia Dyer, since 2016.
