Millie Bobby Brown of 'Stranger Things' leaves Twitter after becoming an antigay meme. She's 14, y'all.
Millie Bobby Brown, who found fame as Eleven in Netflix’s sci-fi show Stranger Things, has left Twitter because of Photoshopped images that have turned her into a homophobic meme.
The 14-year-old actress, like most people her age, is active on social media, including Twitter and Instagram.
For whatever reason, and there usually isn’t one when the internet gets involved, the new trend is Photoshopping fake antigay images on Brown.

In reality, Brown is an antibullying advocate and an LGBTQ rights supporter.
In the Photoshopped image below, Brown was wearing a jean jacket that read “March for their lives” and included the names of the Parkland shooting victims.

Beyond images, people have started to include obviously fake accounts of run-ins with the young actress.
today, i went to target. i am blind and gay. i was walking around with my pride shirt when millie bobby brown came up to me. she said “kill all fags and spit in my mouth” and broke both of my legs. i am now unable to walk ever again.#TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown

In this story, Brown is seen as homophobic and a teenager with legit super strength. SHE BROKE BOTH YOUR LEGS, FAM?
The #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown hashtag has been in use since November of last year, but with June being Pride Month, it seems that it has had a resurgence in popularity.
This screenshot, provided by Twitter user @kobychill, appears to be the story that started the trend.

The posts started out as a joke and some users are saying that the meme is for gays only — and heterosexuals should not interact or add to the content. Obviously, the joke now has a mind of its own.
the fact that gay twitter has collectively agreed to portray millie bobby brown as a raging homophobe is one of the funniest things on earth

Brown has yet to comment on the meme, and why should she? She’s 14 years old and did nothing homophobic to give any shred of credit to these ridiculous memes.
pretending millie bobby brown, a literal child, is a violent homophobe for memes is fucking disgusting and not funny at all. You are grown adults, editing photos of her with captions that include the f slur, violence against lgbt community for comedy and it’s fucking gross.
