This Suite is One of the Best Hotel Rooms in Croatia
Our column "The Best Room At" offers a glimpse inside some of the most charming, luxurious, and iconic properties around the world.
Dubrovnik might not be the first city that comes to mind when you think of über-luxurious Mediterranean destinations, but it should be. The yachts are plentiful, the cuisine is exquisite, and a handful of five-star hotels promise service that's on par with the best resorts in Mykonos or the South of France.
Particularly the Hotel Excelsior, a posh, history-rich property that overlooks both the Adriatic Sea and the Old City's hulking stone walls. Dating back more than a century, the hotel has hosted royalty (like Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret) and celebrities (everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Ashley Judd) alike.
Below, the hotel's general manager Matea Brnin takes us inside Excelsior's best suite.
