The Super Snow Moon Might Wreak Havoc On Your Zodiac Sign
Big news, sky-gazers: On Tuesday, February 19, the full moon will be closer to Earth than any other time of the year-making it the biggest, brightest moon you’ll see in 2019. (Told ya it was big news.)
It’s called a "super snow moon." The"super" part means the moon appears up to 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than usual, according to Space.com. February's supermoon will be the closest full moon of the year, making it look the largest, too.
But wait, what is a snow moon?
The term was coined by Native Americans and reflects the chilly time of year this moon occurs, according to the Farmer’s Almanac. Aside from the moon looking super huge (and awesome) during this time, it's also expected to give off some solid astrological vibes for your zodiac sign.
What does the super snow moon mean for your sign?
There are a few things going down around this moon that make it special, says Donna Page, a certified astrologer in Atlanta. The full moon is in Virgo, but it’s also happening right at the start of Pisces season (ooh drama). "There’s a pull between Pisces and Virgo about finding purpose and meaning in life," says Page.
The Pisces side will make you wonder about the meaning of things happening around you, while the Virgo side will urge you to make sure you’re living in a meaningful, purposeful way. "There’s this overall sense of having compassion and finding meaning and purpose in your everyday life," Page explains.
On top of all of that, Venus, which represents what we love and want, is located right between Saturn and Pluto at the same time. "There’s a pull to look at what to get rid of in our lives, what to keep, and what to change," Page says. (So don't be surprised if you find yourself binge-watching Tidying Up With Marie Kondo.)
Everyone is going to feel the effects of this super snow moon, but Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, and Sagittarius may feel it more than others, says Page. If you fall into one of these signs, you may start to wonder whether your life has purpose and meaning, and what you can do to inject a little more of that into your everyday life.
How will the super snow moon affect the rest of your month and year?
It’s possible that you’ll feel a little more emotional on the super snow moon, and then go about your life as if nothing happened the next day. But it may also set the wheels in motion to make you think about how you’re living your life, especially if you’re one of the four signs expected to feel this more.
Maybe you’ll start thinking about volunteering more, 0r finally make time for that passion project you've put on the backburner. Who knows? You might feel compelled to jumpstart your job search in hopes of scoring a gig that feels more in sync with your overall life goals. Whatever it is, you’ll be all about finding your purpose.
When is the next supermoon?
Page says there's usually only one or two supermoons a year, but 2019 will have three in a year. Last month was the super wolf blood moon, and the next one will be in March. And get this-it’s going down on March 21, the day after the start of the spring solstice.
Before that, Mercury is going into retrograde on March 5, making it a very eventful few weeks. So you'll definitely want to enjoy your moon-gazing while you can...
