T&C Tried & True: Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair
I have sensitive skin and rosacea, pretty much since I can remember. But now that I'm in my thirties, I no longer blindly go forth and push products on my skin that result in an angry, red, and stinging face. That being said, every once in a while, my sensitivities flare or I veer off course of my routine. This requires me to strip things down to the bare minimum. Cleanse, hydrate, and moisturize. The final step of that routine? Well that's tasked to Tatcha's Indigo Overnight Repair.
The first thing to note: this product is fragrance free. Much like many potent active ingredients, fragrance is a no-no for sensitized skin. But this soothing salve also has a very interesting formulation as it is touted as a serum in a cream. This shakes out to a consistency that is thicker than a serum and definitely feels like a cream, but it doesn't feel heavy per se. It feels really nice going on and absorbs well, though not quickly. Seeing as I mostly apply this in the evening, that's not an issue.
But it's not the cushiony formula that makes this little jar my pot of gold, it's the ingredients. First and foremost, the Japanese indigo and red sage root do double duty when it comes to calming irritation. I find that within two nights of use, my redness and skin tone returns to normal and stinging from irritants all but disappears. But I also really love that the potion contains ceramides to restore the skin barrier and help me retain moisture, as well mondo grass root to reinforce my microbiome. This ultimately means comfortable and hydrated skin is in my future.
Now that it's colder and my skin is prone to feeling a bit more raw... I am moving this goodness into my rotation as a nightly staple and not just as needed. It's just that good.
