Taylor Swift Isn't Letting Herself Get Caught By Lip Readers at the Grammys

Taylor Swift came well-prepared for the Grammy Awards this year.

The pop superstar wasn't going to let lip readers in on any of her award show chatter at the ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 4, especially after her viral gossip session with bestie Selena Gomez during the 2024 Golden Globes.

Swift, 34, had the perfect accessory to keep the same thing from happening at the Grammys, as she topped off her classic black and white look with a black folding fan.

The "Anti-Hero" singer put the fan to perfect use during the ceremony, and she was captured whispering to collaborator Jack Antonoff with the fan covering her mouth.

Fans online called Swift "smart" and "iconic" for the genius idea, while others found it incredibly amusing. "She's always full of tricks," one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.

"No lip reading here!" echoed another, while someone else dubbed the accessory the "Look what you made me do fan!"

Others joked that she might have learned the idea from her time watching NFL games, as many coaches, including the Kansas City Chiefs' Andy Reid, often cover their faces when calling out plays.

"Ahh yes, a classic page pulled from the sports playbook," one fan quipped.

We know that Swift has been spending plenty of time in the stands at various football stadiums over the past few months to support boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is now headed for the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11, and fans are hoping that Swift will show up, despite having a concert in Tokyo the night before.

But thanks to the time difference, Swift should have plenty of time to travel to Las Vegas for the game—even the Japanese Embassy has said so!
