Taylor Swift Says She “Loved” the “Weirdness” of the ‘Cats’ Movie
Taylor Swift is on the cover of British Vogue, promoting the new Cats movie.
Taylor talks about the movie with the musical’s composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and says she “loved the weirdness of it.”
Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt personally victimized by the Cats movie—I’m assuming everyone who is reading this article and saw literally even just a still from the new Cats movie is raising their hand right now, ’cause wow, that trailer was scary.
But do you know who is still very much amped on Cats? It’s star Taylor Swift, who just did an interview with the musical’s composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, for British Vogue. While talking with Andrew, Taylor gushed about the film, saying, “I really had an amazing time with Cats. I think I loved the weirdness of it. I loved how I felt I’d never get another opportunity to be like this in my life.”
And while Taylor is acting as though the entire internet wasn’t horrified by the Cats trailer and the movie’s CGI fur situation (even though we really, really were), some of her costars have taken other approaches to promoting the film. Rebel Wilson told Cosmo, “I think some people found [the trailer] a bit creepy ’cause we’re people but we look a bit like cats dancing around,” and Idris Elba made it clear that he doesn’t even know what the movie is about, lol.
And while I completely respect Taylor and her dedication to selling this movie, literally no amount of promotion can convince me to see it because I’m pretty sure I’d have nightmares for months. Oh well!
