Taylor Swift Is All of Us Going Through a Haunted House in Resurfaced Video
Taylor Swift
As Spooky Season forges on, Ellen DeGeneres is blessing us all with a classic Halloween-themed throwback.
The former talk show host took Friday the 13th to heart when she uploaded a clip showing Taylor Swift—whose lucky number is famously 13—braving her show's "haunted hallway" many moons ago, and anyone who identifies as a self-proclaimed chicken is sure to see themselves in it.
The dark hall, decorated in theme with a classic haunted house, was a regular staple of The Ellen Degeneres Show. In 2012, she sent the "You're On Your Own, Kid" singer through, much to her dismay.
"I don't wanna go in it!" Swift, now 33, mourned at the entrance, wringing her hands in fear. "Do you guys hear the music you're playing?"
She worked up the nerve for a minute and a half as the eery tunes piped out from behind the curtain blocking the door, finally stepping in as the music changed.
The hall was decorated with giant spiders and a length of webbing on one side with mummies mounted on the other. The Cats actress continued to mutter her distaste as she carefully picked her way through it all, bracing for something to jump out with each step.
After someone in a costume jumped out at her, she rolled up her sleeves as though preparing for a fight. "Stop doing that!" she yelled.
"God, this is horrible. It's a horrible thing!" she shouted after falling in a pitch-black portion with chains hanging from the ceiling.
As DeGeneres brushed off her fear, suggesting that things went a-okay, Swift turned her back and walked away, monotonously saying, "Bye."
"In honor of #FridayThe13th, here is @taylorswift going through our haunted hallway," the comedian wrote on Instagram, preemptively adding, "You’re welcome."
The video was first filmed during the Red era, when Swift was just 22 years old. DeGeneres spent the whole month of October sending celebrity guests, audience members, and crew members through the hallway.
Today, she's a bit too busy for haunted houses, hosting her own movie premieres and jet-setting from NFL game to NFL game. Still, if she is interested in giving a haunted house another chance, we'd be more than happy to accompany her!
