Learn about 'Artifacts of the Manitowoc 28'
Manitowoc accomplished an incredible feat for World War II, constructing 28 submarines fit for war.
The submarines each have a unique a story.
Using artifacts from these historic vessels, Wisconsin Maritime Museum Archivist and Collections Manager Serena Stuettgenat will share their unique stories to paint a picture of what life was really like under the surface of the ocean.
“Artifacts of the Manitowoc 28” is presented at 5 p.m. Sept. 12. Buy tickets online now at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s website, https://bit.ly/4ceuojJ. The museum is at 75 Maritime Drive.
Follow the map to 'Treasure Island'
Sit back and watch an adventurous play in the beautiful Capitol Civic Centre.
Follow Jim Hawkins and his friends as they set sail with Long John Silver and his pirate band in the search for treasure.
This heartwarming play is put on by the talented kids of Missoula Children’s Theatre.
Showings are at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 14. Tickets can be purchased online at cccshows.org. The Capitol is at 913 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc.
Attend an exciting bash or two
Summer isn’t quite over yet, so soak up the sun while you still can with an outdoor music event!
The third annual NashBash will be taking over The Wharf, 606 Quay St., Sept. 13-15 with free, live music of all your favorite country hits. Go to https://www.wharfmanitowoc.com/music-events for the full schedule.
Another way to get your rays is the Fat Seagull Street Bash Sept. 14. Quay Street in front of the popular bar (807 Quay St.) will be set up with picnic tables and a stage so all can enjoy the fresh air and live music of Conscious Pilot. The band starts playing at 1 p.m.

Sept. 14, you can shop right outside the storefront at 1010 Washington St. for vintage items, home and garden décor, and handmade goods.
