In college, you'll meet many people from various backgrounds. It will be easy for you to find a tribe that shares the same interests and has a deep love for you, just as you are.
Have a healthy balance
Finding a balance that works for you in college is imperative since you're responsible for yourself. Be sure to maintain proper harmony between school work and social life to enjoy yourself and learn as much as possible at the same time. It's also essential to ensure you get enough exercise, mental well-being, and rest to keep your body in good health. In addition to campus LGBTQ+ centers, nonbinary students can take advantage of community-based inclusive health services. Hygiene and self-care while working hard will generate confidence and boost serotonin levels.
Discover what the college has to offer
Experiencing undergrad for the first time is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so make sure to explore all the clubs, organizations, and societies. Make the most of your experience by considering study abroad programs and summer placement programs. With your advisor, discuss the various courses offered if you have no idea what you would like your major to be. Since college is an expensive investment, it's wise to take advantage of all scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities available. Scholarships for LGBTQ+ students are available from organizations such as the Pfund Foundation ($1,000 - $12,000) and the Grand Rapid Trans Foundation ($500 - $2,500).
Be Frugal
You can take advantage of all the student deals everywhere now that you are a student, such as Spotify, Amazon Prime, and local stores near campus. Even if you're not good at cooking, learning how to will help you save money and avoid eating ramen noodles all the time. Consider work-study or part-time jobs to help you stay on top of your finances. Budgeting in college is the best way to spend your money wisely.
