TJ’s Dropped New Frozen Treats in Summer’s Hottest Flavors

When it comes to tasty treats, Trader Joe's knows what's up. The cult favorite grocery store's frozen delicacies are unmatched with an array of awesome ice cream (our pick is horchata), fruity popsicles and so much more.

And as we enter the dog days of summer, TJ's is giving us even more cold, sweet treats. Thanks to an employee on the Trader Joe's subreddit, we know all about Trader Joe's brand new freezer treats and we can't wait to try them all.

The employee, who works at a New York location, excitedly shared: "Lots of new items came in tonight! Celebration Cake Gelato $3.79, S’mores Bars $4.99, Hold the Dairy! Salted Caramel Cones $3.99, and Root Beer Float Bars $3.49."

They posted a photo of all of the new goodies and revealed that their location's staff even had a taste test during their morning huddle to see if each dessert lived up to its tantalizing packaging. Here's a breakdown with all the sweet details.

Celebration Cake Gelato: 16 oz. for $3.79

This decadent gelato combines the soft, rich texture of the Italian dessert with cake pieces and rainbow sprinkles. One excited Redditor asked if this treat tasted like the brand's cake batter ice cream, to which the original poster responded that it did after they tried it at home. Sounds like the perfect treat for birthday cake lovers.

S'mores Bars: 6 bars for $4.99

There's no denying that s'mores are having a moment right now. TJ's dropped a s'mores ice cream earlier this summer and Costco got on the bandwagon too with its soft s'mores cookies. Trader Joe's is upping the ante with these new bars, which have a honey graham crust, a fudgy brownie AND a toasted marshmallow topping. That all sounds awesome, but do they live up to their tasty promise? "How are the s'mores bars?" one curious Redditor asked. The Trader Joe's employee was happy to confirm that they're "delicious!"

Hold the Dairy! Salted Caramel Cones: 12 mini cones for $3.99

This non-dairy item looks like a great option for anyone looking for vegan frozen desserts. They don't stray from ice cream tradition: you get salted caramel-flavored ice cream piled into a mini cone. One Redditor asked "Had anyone tried the salted caramel cones? Do they taste as coconutty as the other hold the dairy cones?" While the Trader Joe's employee replied "not to my taste," they may very well be to yours!

Root Beer Float Bars: Six bars for $3.49

If you love a root beer float, this new treat is for you. To capture the essence of the soda fountain favorite, TJ's starts with a vanilla ice cream center, then adds a root beer popsicle on the outside. A Redditor called out: "I'm totally here for the root beer float bars. Has anybody tried them yet?" The Trader Joe's staffer did, and found them to be "super good!" We're definitely adding them to our summer must-eat list.
