Todd and Julie Chrisley's Prison Release Dates Have Been Moved Up
There's good news for the Chrisley family: Todd and Julie Chrisley's prison release date is now sooner than expected.
Insider reports that according to online records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the prison sentences have been shortened significantly.
Todd, who was initially sentenced to 12 years at Florida's FPC Pensacola, is now scheduled to be released on January 22, 2033. Meanwhile, his wife Julie, who is currently being held at Kentucky's FMC Lexington and was originally supposed to be behind bars for 7 years, will be out on October 19, 2028.
Both sentences are two years shorter, with the couple's attorney, Jay Surgent, telling the outlet, "Without a doubt, Todd and Julie are model incarcerated individuals who received exorbitant sentences. I believe Todd is down to 10 years and Julie is now at five years."
The pair received their sentencing on November 21, 2022, for tax fraud and started their stint in prison in January 2023.
Last month, the couple's son Chase shared an update on how his parents are handling being apart. "It's over 200 [days] now, which is really tough for them because my mom and dad are obsessed with each other," the 27-year-old said while speaking to The Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay for Extra.
"They're hanging in there. It's a terrible situation," he added, in reference to his parents' reportedly challenging prison conditions.
In July, Chase appeared on sister Savannah's podcast Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, where the siblings talked about the "inhumane conditions" Todd and Chrisley faced while locked down. Chase noted that neither of the parents has air conditioning, and Julie encountered snakes in her cell.
Savannah pointed out how terrible it is to think of her mom and dad suffering through terrible conditions, saying, "Air conditioning is just the least of it, whenever you've got black mold, asbestos, lead-based paint, snakes…." Chase agreed, quipping, "It's not Fear Factor."
