Trader Joe's Has a Royal Wedding-Inspired Soda
Trader Joe's is putting a pair of refreshing spring-ready soda flavors on its shelves just in time for warm weather. But one of those flavors also coincides perfectly with another major upcoming event: The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle. The first of the recently announced cane sugar-sweetened soda flavors, Rhubarb & Strawberry Soda, sounds perfectly delicious and tart in its own right. The second, however, may or may not have been an intentional nod to Harry and Meghan.
As we found out earlier in the year, the royal wedding cake will be baked by Violet Bakery founder Claire Ptak and will be flavored with lemon and elderflower and decorated with buttercream. As luck would have it, Trader Joe's other springtime soda is Lemon Elderflower, so if the Royals can still be considered tastemakers, then this beverage flavor is certainly on trend.
A cake-flavored soda isn't the only way you can raise a glass to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. There are a few specialty beverages available for or inspired by the big day.
Royal Wedding Tea
Harney & Sons put out this white tea with pink rosebuds and dubbed it Royal Wedding Tea. It's available on Amazon!
Royal Wedding Wine
While neither is officially the wine of choice for the reception, Chapel Down is rumored to be on the short list, and Camel Valley is Britain's first winery to receive a Royal Warrant, an honor given to suppliers who have served Buckingham Palace and its residents for more than five years. There are even wagers being placed on the wine appearing at the wedding.
Royal Wedding Beer
Windsor & Eton Brewery used a combination of American and British hops and Champagne yeast to produce the very appropriately titled beer Harry & Meghan's Windsor Knot.
And beyond beverages...
Royal Wedding Ice Cream
Ample Hills Creamery has a Royal Wedding ice cream on the way. If you're wondering what flavors the ice cream maker chose to celebrate the couple, they didn't choose any. Instead, it asked that fans submit their own ideas for a chance to win a few pints.
