Trader Joe's Fans are Devastated That This Popular Seasonal Breakfast Item Isn't Making a Return This Year
Dedicated Trader Joe’s fans have been waiting year round for some of their favorite seasonal treats to arrive back on the popular grocery chains shelves. And now that we have officially entered the fall season, it's becoming glaringly obvious that a certain fan-favorite item won’t be making its triumphant return this year.

According to multiple inside sources via the Trader Joe’s subreddit, everyone's favorite go-to fall weather snack, the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Rolls, has unfortunately been discontinued. The seasonal product was officially rolled out back in 2014 and featured real pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and clove inside of the dough with a pumpkin puree icing on top and additional autumnal spices. Made by the same supplier as Trader Joe’s Organic Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls, the pumpkin-flavored rolls quickly became a fan-favorite staple that would generally sell out pretty fast.

So why would such a popular item get the ax just ahead of its long awaited return? There are a number of factors that could come into play here, with the most obvious one being that TJ’s has a never-ending lineup of new products that are under consideration — and there just might be a fresh combination in the pipeline waiting to replace the newly discontinued product.

“I asked for them 2 days ago and was told the distributor went out of business,” one user mentioned in the Trader Joe’s Reddit post. In another post regarding the missing beloved Pumpkin Rolls, a TJ’s crew member chimed in to offer more context to the situation. “We received a master list of all holiday items. I don’t see the pumpkin rolls on there but I can double check in our Quick Item Lookup during my next shift,” they continued, “a ready-to-bake pumpkin scone is coming, if that’s any consolation.”

While it seems that the Pumpkin Rolls did in fact receive the kibosh, one Reddit user noted that the company Immaculate Baking was the brand who made the rolls to begin with before TJ’s put a private label on them. And if that is the case, then Whole Foods — as well as a few other smaller organic-based grocery stores — will be stocking Immaculate Baking’s pumpkin cinnamon rolls soon. Additionally, super fans of TJ’s have already started concocting their own pumpkin roll copycat using only TJ’s ingredients, truly proving that if there’s a will, there's absolutely a way.
