Trader Joe's Just Brought Back Its 'Amazing' Fall-Ready Treat, and Fans Say It's 'Perfect'
One of my favorite desserts of all time is—hands down—a warm, gooey, cinnamon and nutmeg-laced, buttery, flaky apple pie. There’s truly nothing like a warm slice of pie filled with perfectly cooked, tender apples just barely on the other side of melt-in-your-mouth, topped with a non-negotiable heaping scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, silky caramel sauce and a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Pardon me for drooling.
The best thing about the fall-ready dessert is that a good apple pie is outstanding, and a mediocre one is still pretty good, so there’s no risk involved. So, why not dig in? Did you know you can even make an apple pie without any apples at all? Even Taco Bell is bringing back the remarkably delicious caramel apple empanada, which is an apple pie in disguise for all intents and purposes.

Suffice to say, we’re not the only ones obsessed with the deliciously nostalgic flavor of apples elevated to their highest and best form. And what better time to enjoy the comforting, familiar flavors of an apple pie than when cozy season finally arrives? Thankfully, if you don’t have the time to whip one up yourself or you’re having a dinner party that needs a show stopping edible centerpiece, Trader Joe’s has got you covered.

The return of a seasonal fan-favorite that we wish they’d keep in stock year round, has been making its rounds online again, and we can't wait to pick up our own. The delicacy in question? None other than the highly-acclaimed, mouth-watering Rustic Apple Tarte.
Unofficial Trader Joe’s archivist @traderjoesobsessed shared word of the treats much anticipated return on Instagram and fans are saying they “NEED TO GO AND BUY 5 MORE!!!” Can’t you feel the excitement already? This craze-inducing treat features a flaky pie crust base, wrapped around supple tender baked apples, topped with a rustic oat and sliced almond crumble and a final flourish of crunchy Demerara sugar on the crust to round everything out. The resulting 1-pound pastry is then baked, frozen and shipped to stores, before making its way home with you to heat until golden brown and devour.
Best of all, the entire dessert will only set you back a meager $5.49, so it might be worth it to stock up on a few to have whenever the apple pie craving strikes. You could even top the entire thing off with scoops of your favorite ice cream and a generous dusting of cinnamon if you like. And while this is one dessert that’s meant to be shared, we promise not to judge if you devour the whole thing. We know we will.
